When the engine management light comes on, the car stores a fault code. Plenty of places will read that code, look up the part it names, and sell you that part. About half the time it works. The other half, you have bought a sensor that was reporting the problem honestly, and the actual fault is still there.
How we work a fault
- Read every stored and pending code, not just the one that lit the lamp
- Read the live data the car was seeing when it stored the code
- Test the circuit — power, earth, signal and the wiring between them
- Confirm the fault is reproducible before condemning a component
- Fix the cause, clear the codes, then road test to confirm it stays clear
Why the training matters
Twenty-six years in UK main dealers is twenty-six years of manufacturer diagnostic training — VAG Master Technician across Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda, then Senior Technician at Stratstone BMW. That is the level of process being applied to your car here, on the same principle: prove it before you replace it.
What you get
A plain explanation of what is wrong, what it will take to fix, and what it costs — before any repair starts. If the fault turns out to be something simple, we will tell you that too.
