A body repair is judged in daylight, from three metres, by someone who is not looking for it. That is the standard, and most of the work that decides whether you reach it happens before any paint is mixed.

Why colour matching is not just the paint code
Your car's paint code tells us what came out of the factory gun. It does not account for the years of sun since. Matching to the code alone is how you end up with a door that is visibly newer than the wing next to it. We match to the panel, then blend the edges.
Preparation is the job
Paint hides nothing. A panel that was not properly flatted, a repair that was rushed, moisture left in the surface — all of it shows up within months as bloom, lifting or a ripple in the reflection. The time goes into the preparation because that is what determines whether the repair lasts.
