Brakes and tyres are the parts of your car that decide what happens in the moment something goes wrong. They are also the parts where cheap work is hardest to see and most dangerous to live with.
Brakes
- Pads and discs replaced in axle sets, to the correct specification
- Discs measured for thickness and run-out before we decide to skim or replace
- Calipers, slides and pistons checked for seizure — the usual cause of uneven wear
- Brake fluid tested for moisture content and changed on schedule
- Handbrake adjusted and tested properly
- Everything torqued to the manufacturer's figure, not by feel
Tyres
- Fitting, balancing and valve replacement
- Pressures set to the plate for your car, loaded and unloaded
- Tread depth and age checked — a tyre can be legal on tread and still be too old to trust
- Uneven wear investigated, because it is telling you something about the steering or suspension
If we find something
We will show you. Worn pads, a scored disc and a perished tyre are all things you can see for yourself once someone points at them, and we would rather you made the decision looking at the part than reading it on an invoice.
